The Skowhegan Chamber office is open Monday-Friday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The Skowhegan Indian is open to the public at all times.

Skowhegan is home to the Skowhegan Indian, a sculpture residing 200 yards behind the Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce office.  As the world’s tallest Native American, The Skowhegan Indian reaches 62 feet tall atop a 20-foot-tall base, and is  a depiction of a traditional Abenaki fisherman.  The engraved wooden sign at the statues base reads “Dedicated to the Maine Indians, the first people to use these lands in peaceful ways.”
